Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips


  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.

  • Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.

  • Fold in chocolate chips.

  • Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets.

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

  • Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely
