About the Recipe
½ pound cooked bacon, cut up
1 medium onion, diced
1 medium red pepper, diced
1 medium green pepper, diced
1 bottle of favorite barbeque sauce (my favorite is Bull’s-Eye Original)
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup light or dark corn syrup
2-15 ounce cans pork and beans
Cook bacon first and set aside.
Sweat onions and peppers together in the bacon fat until barely translucent.
Drain excess fat and add all ingredients together in the pan on medium heat.
Can also add a touch of vinegar or smoke flavoring to taste if you want.
